Academic Coach
My expertise is: As a university professor for some two decades, I understand what and how to
acquire the tools you will need to successfully navigate the completion of a thesis or
dissertation or Final Project no matter where in the world you choose to complete a tertiary
level education
My story: (in brief) I assumed that since I was not born brilliant, I did not stand a chance of ever
earning a degree. Eventually, I clawed my way through not one, but two degrees (I hold a
Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications and a Master of Fine Arts in Film & Television
Production). The latter I did on a full scholarship as well. My higher education in totality were
years of trial and error. No one told me, showed me or held my hand and led the way to
towards achieving these goals. I found the world of personal development and productivity on
my own.
I field tested nearly all the general tips and guidance I could find before coming to streamlining
a series of practices that is best suited to academic pursuits. I came to conclude that academic
achievement is less about talent and more about a commitment to process. Achievement in the
arena of higher education is an endurance race in which getting to the finish line is not a
magical feat, it is rather, an accomplishment for which having a method works best.
Having been there and helped many students through it within the structure of the
college/university system for many years, I understand personal performance at a level that
allows me to be even more targeted and therefore effective. The two main layers of my
teaching in the higher education system and having been a corporate communications expert
have merged to position me as particularly valuable to struggling students.
WHY choose me: because it's not magic, it's method
because all goals are attainable - with the right mindset and method
What makes me different: I have the right combination of experience (2+ decades in Higher Ed)
and skills (communication strategist) to help students understand the demands of higher
education, manage personal adversity to adapt, overcome and build resilience to complete
your degree.
My core values are: adapt, overcome and improvise
My personality is: straightforward-meaning no beating around the bush
